I have to echo a few of the other comments here. I completely agree that Christians can be both right and left and still be devout Christians; your explanation for why was sorely lacking though. For instance, extra-biblical historical sources tell us that all of Jesus’ disciples were, indeed, martyred for their faith, save John who died in exile on Patmos. We even see the origins of this in Acts when Paul is imprisoned and Stephen is stoned to death. These were done by Jews though, not by Rome. Roman persecution didn’t come till 64 AD, but when it did come it did come HARD. You should look into it! :)
Again, I agree with your overall point — that Christians can conscientiously vote either side of the aisle — but the rest of it was just yanked out of context and doesn’t make much sense to anyone who’s studied the Bible for any substantial amount of time :)
